Eventually I'll fix this but it's surprisingly complex.]\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is the second printing of this image from the studio, I have twenty made up here already and I numbered the run out of 20 but if they move swiftly I'll make some more. This edition is the green to blue fade you see here. It matches the current run of the rosary prints I have going on right now you can see here. Obviously as an artist I \"think through\" the visual situation completely so, I've been calling this the \"garden\" color scheme, it has the greens and blues of \"deep nature\" and then on the frame, the cool grey is kind of like stone, and the warm grey showing through that is like wood (well, it literally is wood). I think it was inspired by being in the woods a lot at this lake near the studio.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eObviously, if you are familiar with me and \"the vibe\" you know I'm very into mysticism, theology, church history, and things like that. All that and more intersects at the study of angels, sometimes called \"angelology\" which is the title for this print.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn case you're unfamiliar with his work, there's a guy named Psudeo-Dionysius the Areopagite who wrote a book called \"On The Celestial Hierarchy\" that is an early work about the ranks of angels and the celestial hierarchy in general. I am not a theologian, but I would say it's been very influential on and foundational for Christianity in general, so I based this print on his writings. Essentially all writing about angels I have found from after him references his work in some way - that's been my personal experience at least.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eNotes:\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI am not a theologian, I'd rather people not think of this as \"the 100% official definitive authoritative guide\", it's more like you rolled into a village in medieval times and there's an artist there who made one of these. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis print is different than the others, I'm printing this from home with this super nice printer I got, so they're not commercially printed like the other prints. I'm able to print with super high quality ink (it almost looks like paint on top of the paper) onto thick watercolor paper, so at the risk of sounding pretentious, it's more of a 'fine art' style print. All the ink and paper is archival (i.e. acid free) so it won't yellow over time and is as \"won't eventually fade\" as physically possible. I sign and number the back of the paper itself, and I'm only going to make a certain amount.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThat's it! I've been working on this for a while so I'm excited to put it out there. I assure you they look very fresh.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt's $65 plus 8 for shipping, I have to buy the frames and all the shipping supplies and the paper and ink is super expensive so, that's the story. If you're outside the US it's a little more. I love this color scheme. I wasn't sure what colors to use, but when I saw the cool grey frames, they reminded me so much of cool stones, it all just clicked. Obviously I like to keep things somewhat symbolic so, I thought the themes of water, plants, and stone (growth, safe place, dependable, healing, etc.) would be a good theme for this printing.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI initially made this image for myself to contain all of the information someone would need to start using a rosary. I really liked that title, 'The Divine Cow', but I saw it in a different way: the church, like a cow, provides sustenance for the people. So I tweaked the image a little bit to flip the original idea presented. I thought this one was interesting because it almost already read as a pro-religion image. The priest, in his robe, with the way he is depicted, seems a positive contrast to the bulky inhuman goliath style machine before him - so there wasn't that much to be done here. So, I flipped the color scheme and changed the imagery slightly. The angle I would take here jumped out to me immediately, as one of my interests is formal debates between atheists and theists, and atheists often use a talking point like this, that we can't see God the way we see the physical things around us, so He must not be there.
